Serving as a Reader (Minister of the Word) is a beautiful and sacred way to participate at Mass. Readers proclaim the Word of God at the Mass in a clear, persuasive way and with interpretive emphasis so that the faithful may discover anew God's Word, alive in our parish. Parishioners high school age and up are encouraged to serve.

Reading Scripture at Mass is an important part of the liturgy. As a Reader, you help the congregation hear and reflect on the Word of God. Because of the importance of this role, training ensures that we approach it with clarity and confidence.
All new Readers are required to attend a training session (offered privately). We also ask returning Readers to participate in an annual group training. This is a helpful way to stay refreshed on best practices and stay connected with others who serve in this ministry.
